19th Century Musketeer Painting.

Oil painting on wood panel depicting a musketeer smoking his pipe and leaning on a deck of cards. A very interesting painting with a lively and unusual subject. The artist is yet to be identified, as evidenced by the signature in the lower right corner. The painting is in a period giltwood frame, measuring 41 x 56 cm externally. The painting on wood is in excellent condition, without any restoration. Note the beautiful use of light colors in monochrome, making this work quite rare and a testament to its originality.
