Large Japanese porcelain dish from the Edo period, mid-19th century.
This large dish is in excellent original condition; it measures 46 cm in diameter and is decorated in blue and white, depicting two birds amid a design of branches.
It features the original metal fastening system, which explains the dish’s excellent condition—it has likely never been used.
It makes a beautiful decorative statement with a lovely monochromatic palette of blues beneath the glaze, complemented by a stunning glaze that is also in excellent condition. 
Can be paired with a similar platter (see the last photo) to create a beautiful matching pair from the same source.
