Technical digression:
Neriage is a Japanese ceramic technique introduced in Europe in the 20th century, consisting of mixing clays of different colors to create marbled or striated effects within the very body of the clay. Unlike a decoration applied on the surface, the pattern is integrated into the clay itself, giving the object unique depth and visual richness. This method requires great skill, as the blending of clays must preserve the solidity of the piece while producing harmonious contrasts. In the 1960s, several Italian and French workshops experimented with neriage, resulting in decorative objects of striking modernity and distinctive aesthetics.
