Antique Cut Crystal Smelling Salts Bottle
Small crystal bottle with a round, flattened shape, adorned with refined cutwork. This bottle was intended to hold an essence, an ointment, or more likely, aromatic salts.
It features a double stopper: an airtight “butterfly” glass stopper, topped by a second decorative metal stopper in the shape of a seashell. The latter was originally hinged to a metal collar set around the neck of the bottle, but over time, the hinge has detached, and the seashell shape shows a slight deformation.
