A Japanese cloisonné vase with a rooster and a hen set against a dark blue ground, decorated with polychrome enamels within a flowering meadow.
The neck is adorned with a wisteria motif in shades of blue, white, and green, gently cascading toward the body of the vase.
The mark appears to correspond to the signature of Tsunekawa Taiichirō, active in Kyoto around 1903, listed as no. 216 in The Art of Japanese Cloisonné Enamel by Fredric T. Schneider.
Period: Late Meiji, late 19th – early 20th century.
Height: 24.5 cm.
Condition: Excellent.
