A Bronze Okimono Depicting A Samurai Archer, Signed Yoshimitsu

A bronze okimono depicting a standing samurai archer drawing his bow, with an arrow poised to be released, signed Yoshimitsu. The figure is rendered in a dynamic, tension-filled pose, his body leaning slightly backward as he pulls the bowstring, his gaze fixed intently on the unseen target with determination and concentration.

The archer wears a richly decorated kimono, its voluminous drapery masterfully articulated through deep, regular folds. The garments are embellished with circular motifs inspired by mon, the heraldic crests of Japanese families, adding both decorative refinement and symbolic significance to the composition.

Signed Yoshimitsu on the reverse of the robes, within a rectangular cartouche. The sculpture is mounted on a finely carved wooden base.
