Terracotta sculpture of a group of two figures by Eduard Stellmacher. A very beautiful sculpture from the late 19th century in excellent original condition. The piece is signed by the artist on the back and bears the factory mark R St K. It belongs to the Riesner Stellmacher and Kessel company, of which Eduard Stellmacher was director until 1904. Eduard Stellmacher was a highly inventive and talented artist who lived in the Czech Republic and directed the Amphora factory. Note the softness and freshness of the colors, as well as the exceptional quality of the modeling, particularly evident in the fine details. A very interesting and rare subject depicting an incredible and a marvelous, two figures from the Directoire period. A very rare collector's piece with undeniable decorative appeal.
