"A Young Beauty By Josef Zenisek (czech, 1855-1944)"
A beautiful Art Nouveau portrait of a young woman wearing pearls and lace was executed in 1914 by the highly regarded Czech portrait and genre painter Josef Zenisek (1855 Prague - 1944). The artist studied at the Academies of Prague and Munich and later worked in Paris and Rome. In 1935, his works were exhibited in a solo exhibition in Prague.
Josef Zenisek is listed in the General Dictionary of Artists from Antiquity to the Present Day by Thieme/Becker, Leipzig 1999, and in the Dictionary of Czech Artists by Dr. P. Toman, Prague 1950.
