Clovis-Edmond Masson wasa famous French animal sculptor , born in Paris on March 7, 1838 .
A student of the sculptors Antoine-Louis Barye and Pierre-Louis Rouillard , Clovis Masson regularly exhibited his animal sculptures at the Salon from 1867 to 1909 .
His rich bestiary included big cats, deer , and roe deer .
His bronzes are characterized by their elegance .
From 1867 onward, with his plaster cast "The Hunt for Indian Tigers" , he specialized in animal representation .
His work was playful and inventive , reflecting the artistic license of his mentor , Antoine-Louis Barye .
Subsequently , Masson participated regularly in the Salon , creating more than fifty works until 1909.
In 1890 , he was awarded an"Honorable Mention" .
In parallel , the sculptor created several monumental works , both in France and abroad.
He notably worked with the sculptor "Georges Ernest Saulo" on the "Equestrian Portrait of the King of Siam" , which still adorns "The Ananta Samakhom Palace Square" in Bangkok .
Clovis-Edmond Masson died in Villevaude on September 10 , 1913 .
