A delicate early 19th-century Empire side table, veneered in mahogany and featuring a single drawer. Its elegantly curved C-shaped legs terminate in brass sabots and are joined by a rectangular stretcher adorned with brass moldings. The oval top is decorated, at the junction of the legs, with stylized acanthus leaf appliqués and encircled by a fine openwork brass molding, a later addition perfectly in keeping with the style. Carefully restored and hand-polished, this refined table is a charming example of early Empire elegance.
