Object description :

"Indo-persian Armor XVII Century Signed"
Indo-Persian armor.

Composed of a barleycorn-type chainmail reinforced with metal plates.
There are 102 plates, with two missing.
Three rows of 32 plates on the back, four on each side along the ribs, and four large, convex plates in the front with loops for closure.

On the reverse of one of the large plates, there is an inscription in Arabic with the name of Maharaja Anup Singh (1669-1698) and the date in Samvat script: 1774, or 1691 AD.

17th century.
Height approximately 70 cm.
The sleeves are very long: 90 cm at the top of the shoulder.
Weight 15.5 kg.

The torso and gambeson, which aid in display, are included.
