"Japanese Sword - Tanto - Copper Alloy - Early 20th Century"
Japanese tanto-type sword.
The scabbard, hilt, and blade are made of copper alloy. These elements of the sword are richly decorated, notably with motifs of lilies, chidori (plupary trees), and a shishi (a type of fish). One menuki depicting a dragon is present, another is missing. There are scattered traces of oxidation and wear at the tip of the blade.

Blade length: 32.5 cm.
Overall length of the sword in scabbard: 53 cm.
