"Takatsuki Lacquered Japanese Footed Tray - Japan"
A carved and lacquered wooden footed tray decorated with takatsuki, spiral swirls, and traditional Japanese motifs in gold makie lacquer. Japan, circa 1970, 20 x 17.5 cm. This type of footed tray is called a mochiobon and is used to present mochi cakes, especially at the New Year.
