"Second Half Of The 17th Century Six Paintings With Popular Scenes"
Six elegant oil paintings on canvas, housed in contemporary frames of carved, ebonized, and gilded wood. The paintings depict genre scenes, depicting everyday life. For example, they depict musicians, women washing clothes, and men drinking in a tavern or gambling. These paintings are remarkable for their skillful use of chiaroscuro, pictorial technique, and stylistic flair. This series of paintings can be attributed to the painter Teodoro Helbreker, also known as Teodoro il Fiammingo or Monsù Teodoro (1638-1696), active in Rome and a member of the so-called "Scuola dei Bamboccianti" (School of the Bamboccianti). Typical of the school was the depiction of popular scenes from everyday life in papal Rome, with a focus on those living on the margins of society. This is a series of paintings of great taste and antiquity, capable of adding a touch of class and value to any space. Italian craftsmanship from the second half of the 17th century.
