"Two Spoons Originating From Iran, Dating From The 19th Century (1850-1880)"
Here are two spoons originating from Iran in the 19th century, between 1850 and 1880. They come from Abadab, a village between Isfahan and Shiras. The large spoons were made in two parts; the long handle was inserted into a slot under the central rosette. The large spoons were used for sorbets, the medium ones for soup or rice, and the small ones for pickles. They are made of linden wood. They measure 27.5 cm and 24.5 cm. The smaller one has a hanging hook, is made from a single piece of wood, has inscriptions on the handle, and shows a very small chip on the left side of the ladle. The larger one is made in two parts, has inscriptions along the handle, and is in very good condition.
