Sword of the 1838 model, Louis Philippe period, for naval administration officer, 19th century. Brass hilt with smooth grip and vertically grooved side, brass pommel with rivet button bearing Marine Anchor hallmarks. See photos. The crossguard is finished with two quillons with a ball. The wide, flat, double-edged blade has two fullers and is signed at the ricasso by Couleau on one side and Kligental on the other. It also bears the "B" hallmark on each side. The scarlet blade guard is present. The black leather scabbard has two brass mounts. The chape bears a marine anchor hallmark (see photos) and a locket ending in a ball. Length: 66 cm.
