The Hungarian painter and graphic artist Sándor Józsa was born in 1910 in Kolozsvár and studied under V.J. Vaszary. In the 1930s, he emigrated to France and settled in Paris, where he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and exhibited his works regularly between 1930 and 1946. He died in Barbizon in 1989.
