This plate is a rare piece of 20th-century silverware. Weighing 810 grams of 925/1000 sterling silver (confirmed by the hallmark visible on the reverse), it is an official commemorative plate of the Sultanate of Oman, as evidenced by the national emblem (the Khanjar and crossed swords beneath a crown) engraved on the plate and stamped on its original case. The surface of the plate is adorned with four finely engraved medallions depicting iconic Omani monuments. The item I am offering served as a ceremonial gift and was presented to an elected official of the French Republic. This diplomatic context gives this silver plate significant historical value. It is presented in its original green case bearing the inscription of the manufacturer or distributor: Ajay Entreprises. Diameter: 23 cm. Weight: 0.810 kg. Very good condition.
