"Wooden Box From Saint Lucia, 18th Century"
A circular box with a slightly domed lid, made of St. Lucie wood, dating from the very beginning of the 18th century. This exquisitely crafted piece, originating from Lorraine, is made of Prunus wood, a material in which the sculptor César Bagard specialized, hence its name "Bagard wood." Our box is typical of this production and richly ornamented, both on the lid and on the finely engraved sides and underside. A crack in the lid (common with this wood) has been repaired, barely visible on the top. Otherwise, it is in beautiful condition with a lovely patina. Diameter: 13.5 cm Height: 6.5 cm
