Paris chest of drawers Louis XV period circa 1760 stamped JB GALET for Jean-Baptiste GALET. Received Master on May 13, 1754 Cf: Pierre Kjellberg, Le mobilier Français du XVIIIème 1989 p335 and following. GALET's works are notably found at Waddesdon Manor in London. This model of chest of drawers typical of the Transition Louis XV-Louis XVI style seduces by the balance of its lines, the finesse of its marquetry. The front opens with 4 drawers on three rows, highlighted by a decoration of frieze in rosewood chevrons forming an elegant play of contrasts. Its key is missing.
