Very rare complete set of 25 engraved cards, coloured by hand (there are two identical cards of No. 22, so in total 26 cards).
Contained in a cardboard box covered with marbled paper, outer dimensions 12 x 8 x 3 cm
From other surviving sets of these charming playing cards it is known they were sold in Paris ‘Chez les Marchands de Nouveautés’, around the year 1820.
Very unusual to have a complete set, as they were meant to be played with and were often damaged during the process, or cards lost.
Very good condition for the age. One card is damaged and repaired with brown paper on the back.
Shipping in Europe: EUR 25
