Pierre Lelong, born March 24, 1908 in Neuilly-sur-Seine and died in 1984 in Paris, is a French painter whose artistic career spans the heart of the 20th century. Trained at the Académie Julian, he established himself very early on as a promising artist before the Second World War interrupted his career. Taken prisoner between 1940 and 1943, he resumed painting upon his return and settled permanently in Paris, where he actively participated in the major post-war salons and group exhibitions. A member of the group of Painters Witnesses of Their Time, he rubbed shoulders with several leading figures on the French art scene. Over the decades, his works have been exhibited in France and abroad, notably in Paris, Geneva and Brussels. Several of his paintings are now in public collections, including those of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and French regional museums. Considered a humanist painter and committed to the representation of everyday life, Pierre Lelong leaves behind a sensitive body of work, imbued with observation and memory. Painting in very good condition, with its Montparnasse frame. Dimensions without frame: 55 / 46 cm
