Oil on canvas, early 20th century, depicting gypsies in front of a building. Hungarian School, signed lower right "A.Dudits" Andor Dudits (1866–1944) was a Hungarian painter born in Pest (Budapest). Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest, he was influenced by the British Pre-Raphaelite movement and Art Nouveau. He is best known for his historical frescoes, notably in the Cathedral of St. Elizabeth in Košice, as well as for his portraits and genre scenes with rich colors and careful compositions. His works, exhibited in several museums and sold at auction, reflect a style combining academic tradition and modern decorative influences. Good general condition. Dimensions: 90 / 69.5 cm
