"“toi Et Moi” Sapphire And Diamond Ring – Belle époque Period, Circa 1900 “toi Et Moi” Ring"
“Toi et Moi” sapphire and diamond ring – Belle Époque period, circa 1900 Superb “Toi et Moi” ring from the late 19th century, Belle Époque period, with a sinuous and refined design, typical of the romantic jewelry of this era. It features two main stones: an oval-shaped natural sapphire and an old-cut diamond (cushion cut) set opposite each other, in an elegant spiral movement. According to our observations under the microscope, the sapphire shows traces of heating, a traditional treatment intended to intensify the color. Its deep blue hue and beautiful transparency give it a luminous and harmonious presence. The diamond, approximately 1.20 carats, is estimated at SI1 to SI2 for clarity and HI for color, presenting a very beautiful brilliance and a balanced old cut. The sapphire, approximately 1.50 carats, offers a beautiful homogeneity of tone and a brilliance typical of heated natural gems. The setting, in 18-carat gold (750 ‰) and silver, is enhanced with a paving of small old-cut diamonds, one of which has been replaced, without aesthetic impact. A charming and elegant ring, representative of the jewelry refinement of the Belle Époque.
