"Marquetry Watch Holder In Imitation Of A Cartel"
To put down his watch called onion in the 18th century, boxes in the shape of a cartel were made to store it, while still allowing to conveniently read the time. Carefully made, decorated like a large one in gilded bronze, covered with copper and tortoiseshell marquetry, they mimic their models to perfection. One side has lost the copper parts, but the front is in very good condition (like the other side). Complete with all its bronzes, a cabinetmaker will be able to take back, if desired, these small lacks.
