Elegant Roman console, dating from the second half of the 18th century, crafted in carved, sculpted, and giltwood with visible traces of red bole. The piece stands out for the sinuous movement of its legs, the rich decoration of scrolls and acanthus leaves, and the high quality of its original gilding, which remains in excellent condition.
The top, antique and original to the piece, is made of veined red marble, finely shaped and book-matched, with pink, orange, and white veining typical of the most precious stones of the period, and edged with Siena yellow marble. The base features an elaborate central floral motif connecting the gracefully curved X-stretcher legs, adding both structural stability and ornamental refinement.
This console is a magnificent example of Baroque decorative furniture, designed for aristocratic and theatrical interiors — today perfect for entrance halls, grand salons, or representative settings.
Very good condition, with minor and age-consistent gilding losses.
