Charles MARTIN-SAUVAIGO (1881-1970) Born in Nice in 1881. He was a student of Felix Ziem.
At 16, he entered the Arts-Décoratifs in Nice, then the Arts-Décoratifs in Paris, as well as the Beaux-Arts in the studio of Léon Bonnat and Luc-Olivier Merson. He became an official painter of the Navy and participated in the creation of the Société des Beaux-Arts de la mer. For the 1937 Paris World's Fair, he created a diorama of more than 400 square meters for the Côte d'Azur pavilion.
He decorated large luxury liners (Compagnie Générale Transatlantique and Messageries Maritimes among others).
Gold medalist at the Salon des Artistes Français (1934).
