Antique oriental polychrome lead statuette depicting a beggar standing on a rug, his hands outstretched in a gesture of supplication. His expressive attitude and attention to detail reflect the sensitivity of the work of the Nuremberg workshops at the end of the 19th century. Golden brown patina with original polychromy. German work, circa 1880-1890. Minor visible damage to the base and wear from use. 18cm high, 19cm diameter.
