"17th Century Box. "
This oak box is lined in the corners with bronze reinforcements ending in a fleur-de-lis, on each side there is a bronze drop handle and on the front a beautiful entrance which ended in the shape of an eagle, with two stylized heads, one is missing. Inside the original lock is cut around the edge and the lid with bronze hinge is provided with a padlock hasp to reinforce the closure. This small safe or money changer's chest, intended for the transport of precious objects, is of German or Austro-Hungarian origin. In good general condition it has kept its key and the lock works. A fleur-de-lis is missing in the center of the front in the lower part. Period late 17th century. Dimensions length 47 cm, depth 24 cm, height 23.5 cm
