Manufactured by the Manufacture d'armes de Châtellerault in July 1879.
On the blade, we can see a name engraved in an ornate cartouche, typical of private officer's sabers, often personally ordered. Hallmarks S and B = official controllers active at this date (namely Bernier & Sprenger).
Guard in polished gilded brass with three branches enriched with foliage and palms.
Curved blade, single-edged, hollow-sided back (blade "à la Montmorency" typical of 1822 models).
Silver-plated filigree handle, in excellent condition.
Metal scabbard with a bail.
Total length: Approximately 110 cm.
Overall in very good condition.
