Chiseled gilt brass hilt. Guard with a single hollowed branch and a lanyard hole, short-tailed pommel, overhanging guard and shell guard, quillon with openwork floral decoration. Horn grip with copper wire inlay. Fine fullered blade with a single edge, ending in a fish's tongue. Marked "Manufacture Pagé Frères Chatellerault". Length 94 cm. Blade 77 cm. Natural leather sword knot. Steel scabbard with two suspension rings, molded scabbard opening. Good condition. Late 19th or early 20th century.
