Sylvère Declerck is a Belgian artist born in Bruges in 1934. His work was initially influenced by the expressionism of Constant Permeke. From 1968, he chose the path of geometric abstraction, in a constructivist vein with its own chromatic language. He became mayor of Blankenberge from 1986 until 1994. He died in Bruges in 2018, a year after his last retrospective at the Galerie La Pipe in Ostend in 2017. The work offered for sale is a large format oil on canvas 80/95 cm. It is a spectacular constructivist work enhanced with rare and refined colors. The painting is furnished with an old frame, in solid wood with a silver patina, in very good condition. Here is a spectacular work by this artist, rare on the market and very decorative.
