"Sea Green Scagliola Sheath, Early 19th Century"
Scagliola sheath in imitation of sea green marble from the early 19th century. The square-shaped sheath is decorated with rectangular highlights on three sides, embellished with moldings on the base and plinth. Old restorations and chips (see photos). Work from the early 19th century with elegant proportions. Scagliola has been used since antiquity to imitate rare and precious marbles, whether in the creation of wall decorations, columns, pilasters, but also floors or objects (furniture tops, columns and bowls, etc.). For its implementation, a mixture of gypsum, glue and pigments is used to form a colored stucco paste.
