Gilded Wooden Torch Holder, Italy, 17th Century.
Large gilded wooden torch holder from the 17th century.
Composed of 3 superimposed elements connected by a central axis, it rests on a very stable tripod structure.
It ends with a circular platform 26 cm in diameter.
The sculpture is very deep, in the Baroque style with leafy representations adorning the base and the shaft.
Formerly transformed into a lamppost, it has retained its threaded stem, the electric cable passing through its axis.
It can therefore easily be used again as a lamppost or treated as a torch holder in its original state.
Beautiful gilding of the period, no notable lack.
