Around the central composition are two medallions containing the identified relics of Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jeanne de Chantal, surrounded by delicate scrollwork in rolled gilded paper. This devotional work, typical of convents in the South of France, perfectly illustrates the finesse and fervor of Provençal religious paperolles.
