Guillerme and Chambron Floor Clock with Faience Decor by Danikowski 1950s

Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron, a highly influential furniture duo from the 1950s to the late 1970s, co-founded the Votre Maison workshop. Guillerme created the forms, Chambron oversaw marketing, and together they locally produced avant-garde pieces that blended functionality with sculptural expression. The grandfather clock is an emblematic example: made around 1960–70, often in patinated oak, it incorporates a ceramic dial (Danikowski signature). Boleslaw Danikowski (1928–1979), trained at the Beaux-Arts in Lille, set up as a potter and ceramist in the North of France. He collaborated closely with Guillerme & Chambron to adorn their furniture with unique ceramic touches. Rare solid oak clock (work attributable to the Guillerme & Chambron aesthetic) adorned with a green glazed earthenware head by Danikowski. Mid-century piece (circa 1955-65), in excellent condition, with a very decorative contrast: warmth of the carved oak / glazed shine of the ceramic. The earthenware face brings the artistic touch typical of Votre Maison x Danikowski collaborations; the whole is both a useful object and a sculptural element, perfect for a high-end vintage interior. Coming from the same body of creations combining oak cabinetmaking and ceramics by Danikowski, highly prized for its unique character.
