The surface is enlivened by a spectacular flamed decoration in shades of crimson red, violet, and turquoise blue, giving the whole a molten effect. Relief motifs in the form of elongated drops adorn the upper part, accentuating the organic momentum of the design typical of the late 19th century. The interior and base of the vase reveal an intense celadon blue glaze. The base bears the artist's incised signature.
