Miniature portrait on ivory of a young aristocrat during the Restoration. Presented in an oval gilt bronze frame chiseled with palmettes in a blond mahogany frame, on the back label of the framer Valette rue des petits champs in Paris. The artist: Jean Baptiste Sabatier-Blot (1801-1881) renowned miniature painter based in Port Royal, daguerotyppist pioneer of photography, friend of Louis Daguerre of whom he executed in 1844 a rare portrait now kept at the George Eastman Museum.
