Portrait of a noblewoman. The updo and soft features are typical of the Neoclassical and Romantic styles of the early decades of the 19th century. Frame: The oval miniature is set within a finely crafted gilded metal frame. The entire piece is mounted on a protective square panel of blackened (ebony-finished) wood, equipped with the classic top ring for hanging on the wall.
