The painting depicts a female figure with an Orientalist flair, both in her features and clothing, wearing a veil gathered behind her head, a flowing red robe, and holding a feather fan. The painting is signed lower right on the front, while the dedication, signature, and date are on the back. The painting is presented in a contemporary carved, lacquered, and gilded wooden frame. Painter Mario Bucci was born in Foggia in 1903 but lived primarily in Florence, developing his art as a self-taught artist. He held solo exhibitions in Florence, Arezzo, Rome, Milan, and Messina. He participated in all the most important Italian art exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadrennial. His works have been purchased by the Uffizi Gallery and the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Florence, as well as other Italian museums, and are also held by renowned collectors.
