Structure and decoration: It features a triangular base supported by lion's paw feet. The base is decorated with leafy scrolls and medallions. The shaft is molded with a pear-shaped knot and plant decorations. The top has a central tip to hold the candle.
Period and origin: Objects with features similar to the one pictured have been attributed to 18th-century Tuscan and Venetian workshops. Other examples dating back to a later period, such as the 19th century, come from workshops in Campania or Lazio.
