- Polychrome Gallic rooster in slip with a sheaf of wheat at the back forming a flower girl from the faience factory of Hippolyte Boulenger (1836-1892) in Choisy-le-Roi.- Model created by the animal sculptor Paul Comoléra (1818-1897) for the faience factory of Hippolyte Boulenger in Choisy-le-Roi.- The sculptor Paul Comoléra is one of the central figures of the Choisy Le Roi factory, from 1863 it is directed by Hippolyte Boulenger who gives the factory a new spectacular artistic boost by associating with talented and renowned sculptors and by participating from 1867 in numerous international events including the universal exhibition of 1878 in Paris where it obtains a gold medal. - French animal sculptor, Paul Comoléra, student of François Rude and master of Jules Moigniez, he exhibited his works for the first time at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1847 in Paris and then exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français until his death in 1897. - He collaborated with the earthenware factory of Hippolyte Boulenger in Choisy-le-Roi to whom he supplied the majority of molds for animal sculpture for the artistic workshop. - Several of his works were reproduced in slip by the Hippolyte Boulenger factory (rooster, hen, parrot, etc.) Signed with the factory's stamp under the base HB Cie for Hippolyte Boulenger Compagnie and Choisy-Le-Roi France in black underglaze and countersigned intaglio in the paste by the artist P.COMOLÉRA on the top of the edge of the base. - Period fourth quarter of the 19th century around 1878-1890.
