For your information:
Henri Amand was a Parisian master cabinetmaker who received his master's degree on November 17, 1749. After setting up shop on Rue de Lappe, he moved his workshop to Rue de Charenton, where his widow continued to work from 1757 to 1768. This cabinetmaker's most notable works include Louis XV chairs, beautifully proportioned and well-crafted, caned office chairs, armchairs à la reine carved with cartouches and fleurettes, and elegant sofas adorned with rocaille motifs. He often joined the legs of his chairs with a crosspiece. Henri Amand's stamp is most often affixed to one of the backrest uprights, behind the seat. The large signature of this master cabinetmaker (who worked for a long time as a privileged worker before receiving his master's degrees) is among the oldest found on 18th-century furniture. The closely spaced characters appear to form a whole. Specializing in seating, Henri Amand primarily produced curved chairs with a very noble and pure line. An undisputed master!
