"Large French Sterling Silver Ewer Lyon 1819-38 Swan Finial"
Spectacular Lyonnaise ewer in solid silver from the Restoration period. Decorated with palmette friezes around the upper body and the circular foot, and a frieze of pearls under the neckline. Handle with strong threads and palmette attachment. Note the very pretty chiseled decoration alternating flowers and leaves on the base. Ewer with an original lid stamped with a Swan resting on a gadrooned terrace. Piece well hallmarked (body and lid) with the 1st Title (.950) and guarantee hallmarks for LYON 1819-38. Spectacular solid silver ewer from the Restoration period in good general condition, also revised and cleaned by our Silversmith, small marks and micro-scratches from use.
