Miloud Boukerche (1918-1979) born in Sidi Bel Abbès he came to study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and had a studio in Place Pigalle then in Vaucresson where he ended his days. Influenced by his predecessors Étienne Dinet and Adam Styka, Miloud became a specialist in oriental couples with strong erotic and romantic connotations. He was one of the first Muslim artists of easel painting. Miloud Boukerche's first exhibition dates back to 1947 at the Cercle franco-musulman d'Alger. He died in 1979, leaving behind a body of work that has not been catalogued but whose importance is attested to by auction sales.
