"Pair Of Patinated And Gilded Bronze Candelabras, Empire Period"
Pair of Empire period candelabras, in patinated bronze and gilded with matte and shiny gold. Each candelabra represents the winged figure of Victory draped in a long pleated dress in the antique style, the raised arms supporting a bouquet with four light arms decorated with a bust of a winged woman, topped with a socket decorated with palmettes. The central shaft, chiseled with foliage, ending in a corolla, is topped with a flame. Each Victory rests on a half sphere decorated with laurel leaves, carried by a quadrangular base decorated on three sides with a lyre and palmettes ending in a plinth with a water leaf motif. Work circa 1815, to be compared to the Thomire invoice, in very good condition, in its original gilding. (pierced for electricity.)
