René Buthaud is a figure of Art Deco in France, a major Bordeaux artist who worked as a ceramist, painter, decorator, glassmaker and who acquired a reputation during his lifetime. Gouache and ink on paper showing a work of transparency, with play of the feminine motif and abstract background, circa 1960. Emile Bouche frame which suits the work perfectly and gives it a beautiful presence. Belonged to the collection of Bordeaux artist Pierre Cruège (see photo on the back).
