"Blanche Zo Laroque Bouquet Of Flowers Gouache On Paper Circa 1930 "
This gouache on paper signed Zo-Laroque presents a bouquet of flowers: white lilacs, roses, tulips. Blanche Zo-Laroque is an artist from the first half of the 20th century from the Basque Country who produced numerous portraits and, like this one, bouquets of flowers. The pictorial treatment is particularly interesting in the awakenings of whites and the transparencies of the background which let the flowers stand out in their colors. Unlike oils on canvas, this gouache shows a preciousness and softness in the choice of shades and their vegetal / pastel dimension. The signature in the style of 1930s typography also allows the work to be situated in its time. The work is in good condition, despite some slight pitting (see photos). It is framed. Dimensions: 62.5 cm x 45 cm (without frame) 71 cm x 54 cm (with frame).
