"Georges Papault Charles Serpaut Art Deco Enameled Porcelain Bear Circa 1930"
Very beautiful Limoges porcelain bear, made by Charles Serpaut after a model by Georges Papault. The latter, best known as a master enameller on copper, also created several sculptures, including this rare bear with a pleasantly cubist figure. The porcelain is coated with a non-cracked ivory enamel. This bear bears, intaglio and under enamel, the signature of Georges Papault, as well as on the reverse, in ink, the monogram CS for Charles Serpaut, accompanied by the mention Limoges France, registered design. Perfect condition. Dimensions: height 17.5cm, length: 22.5cm
