Pretty chiseled and gilded bronze clock representing the Roman goddess Prudentia, who illuminates the future thanks to the past by keeping perils at bay. She sees the future in her mirror and keeps the snake at bay. In good general condition, acceptable wear of the gilding, the mirror is normally removable and is inserted by small steps. The movement is wire and currently works as well as the complete ringing of its bell but sold as is without guarantee of operation as it is an old movement. We have the key but not the pendulum which has not been found. Small chip in the enamel of the dial. Pretty base decorated with the motif of the beehive, a sign of prosperity. It rests on 4 spinning top feet. French work around 1800. Height 42.5cm. Length 21cm, width 12.5 cm.
